2. Lamar Stevens

Though originally seen as an afterthought acquisition among the fanbase from the Xavier Tillman trade, Lamar Stevens has quickly become a favorite among the franchise's faithful followers thanks to his style of play and on-court excellence.

Since making his debut with the club back on February 12, the forward has steadily become key difference-maker on both ends of the floor within coach Jenkins' lineup.

In 21.8 minutes per game, Stevens is posting an impressive all-around stat line of 11.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and just shy of a block while shooting 48.8 percent from the floor and 38.9 percent from deep.

While his counting stats alone may be enough to encourage Memphis to pursue a long-term contract with the impending free agent, it has been his hustle and energy witnessed via the eye test that should all but solidify his claim to a roster spot beyond this year's campaign.

In possession of a game that exemplifies "Grit and Grind" style of play, Stevens' fearlessness on each side of the court has endeared him to his coaches, cohorts, and fans alike.

From his willingness to take matters into his own hands on offense by creating for himself or thriving in catch-and-shoot sets to his ability to defensively match up against virtually anyone from the one to even the five (has played a significant amount of time at center despite only being 6-foot-6), there's a lot to like about the forward remaining in tow for the foreseeable future.

The only hope now is that the Grizzlies see this as well.
