Already this summer, the Memphis Grizzlies have gone about and bolstered their frontcourt depth with their addition of Purdue standout big Zach Edey during the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft.

A major sore spot within coach Taylor Jenkins' rotation, their instability at the center position proved to be a serious concern throughout their lackluster 2023-24 campaign and, heading into the offseason, improving their depth at the position was presumed to be a key agenda for this front office.

Now, with Edey in tow, the Grizzlies officially have brought aboard a sturdy frontcourt commodity to help strengthen their frontline defense and improve their overall paint presence.

However, he alone doesn't appear to be satisfying the ball club's itch to add more heads to their frontcourt, and, according to a recent report by Kelly Iko of The Athletic, the team currently has an interest in pursuing veteran tweener big, Daniel Theis, on the free agent market.

Throughout his seven years in the association, Theis has proven himself to be a sound contributor to a team's rotation and has ample experience serving within a title hopeful's lineup.

This past season, the 32-year-old found himself suiting up for two different clubs in the Indiana Pacers and LA Clippers, though predominantly spent his time with the latter as he was bought out by Indy and then signed on with Los Angeles in early November.

In 59 games played with the Clippers, the veteran put up impressive averages of 6.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and just shy of a block in a mere 17.1 minutes while shooting 53.6 percent from the floor and 37.1 percent from distance on 1.2 attempts per night.

Theis is a talent who can defend the rim, rip down rebounds, and space the floor out toward the perimeter.

While he may no longer be the starting-caliber center the Boston Celtics utilized him as during his heyday, Daniel Theis is still a competent role player who, while serving as a reserve, could be a solid back up to both Jaren Jackson Jr. and, assuming he gets the starting nod from game one, Zach Edey.
