Amid an injury-plagued season, the Memphis Grizzlies have consistently found themselves struggling to piece together a qualifying game-day lineup, which, in turn, has forced the front office to look toward available free agents and G League talents to fill out Taylor Jenkins' roster with.

From Vince Williams Jr. to GG Jackson, Zach Kleiman has already managed to find a few diamonds in the rough throughout this gap year, and, just recently, he opted to shell out yet another contract to a developmental player logging minutes with the Memphis Hustle.

During the early hours of Monday, February 26, the Grizzlies announced that they have agreed to undisclosed terms on a 10-day contract with power forward, Matthew Hurt, marking it as his second call-up of the campaign.

Since going unselected back in the 2021 NBA Draft, the former Duke Blue Devil has spent the vast majority of his professional career suiting up for the Grizzlies G-League affiliate squad where, in 2023-24, he's posting stellar averages of 24.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.5 blocks while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor and 43.8 percent from distance.

As noted, Hurt has already been called up once before this season, making his debut with the ball club on January 29 in a bout against the Sacramento Kings. Logging 23 minutes right off the bat, the 23-year-old went on to drop 10 points and 2 boards on 50.0 percent shooting from the floor and 66.7 percent shooting from distance.

Through three total games played with the varsity team, he is posting averages of 5.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists.
