Grizzlies star Ja Morant ranks top-15 in lucrative category despite lackluster season

2023-24 was a season to forget for Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant.
From his initial 25-game suspension to his campaign-ending shoulder surgery that was announced less than a month after his return to action, the superstar point guard was a "blink and you'll miss him" contributor within coach Taylor Jenkins' rotation this past year.
Yet, despite this undeniable truth, Morant was still a player fans frequently found themselves representing throughout the season, as the NBA recently revealed that the 24-year-old had one of the top-selling jerseys, with his No. 12 ranking 11 in sales during the second half of action.
Grizzlies star Ja Morant's jersey ranks as a top-selling jersey in 2023-24
What makes this statistic all the more attention-grabbing is that not only does the Grizzlies star find himself falling within the top 15 in jersey sales, but his threads have outsold the likes of two of the three most prominent players currently in the running for league MVP in Nikola Jokic (13) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (unlisted).
A two-time All-Star and an All-NBA selectee, despite seeing just nine games of action this year Morant still proved himself to be one of the most entertaining talents this game has to offer.
Recording buzzer-beating game winners to throwing down thunderous jams, during his brief stint in 2023-24 the point guard saw himself averaging 25.1 points, 8.1 assists, and 5.6 rebounds on 47.1 percent shooting from the floor.
With him in the lineup, this Grizzlies team is viewed as a legitimate championship contender, and Morant believes that once he's back to full strength they'll once again be a threat to take home the Larry O'Brien Trophy as soon as next year.
Seeing how high his sales were during such a limited campaign, one can only imagine where his jersey will rank during an expected redemption season in 2024-25.
