Evan Mobley

Is it unlikely that the Cavaliers will be looking to trade Evan Mobley this summer? Yes.

That said, recent suggestions indicate that the front office will be bouncing back and forth between whether they wish to keep him or star center Jarrett Allen around for next season and, if they want to go in the direction of holding onto the superior player, at the moment that would be the latter, which, in turn, would send the 22-year-old to the trade block.

In such a scenario, for any team to land the services of the third-year big man it will require a significant amount of assets being shipped outbound.

Fortunately for the Grizzlies, they have plenty to work with, and, especially if they opt to keep Jaren Jackson Jr. at the pivot, there may not be a better player to tap into their treasure chest for than Mobley.

Measuring in at 6-foot-11 with a 7-foot-4 wingspan, the big man is a tremendous rim protector who, thanks to his lateral quickness, can realistically guard anyone from a three down to a five with relative ease.

On top of his efforts on the less glamorous side of the ball that saw him sporting a +2.0 defensive box plus-minus, a 109 defensive rating, and average 1.4 blocks per night, Mobley witnessed his floor-spacing game reach new heights as well, as he converted on 37.3 percent of his attempts from distance on the season.

In 30.6 minutes a night, the power forward would go on to average 15.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists on a career-high 58.0 percent shooting from the field as a whole.

Adding someone of his caliber to a frontcourt already consisting of Jackson would create one of the game's most ferocious defensive tandems, and his offensive skills would allow Memphis to play five-out sets right from the jump while also giving them yet another player who could benefit from running alongside the high-motor Ja Morant on fastbreaks.
