Santi Aldama

Perhaps one of the more underrated players found on this roster, Santi Aldama is likely to be a player many rival front offices will be keeping an eye on as the Grizzlies enter into an offseason with a sizable amount of pressure to reconstruct into a contender.

Throughout his three-year career, the 23-year-old has proven himself to be a quality frontcourt commodity who can space the floor, protect the rim, and seamlessly transition between the four and five positions thanks to his enviable 7-foot frame.

Aldama is currently coming off his best season from a statistical standpoint in 2023-24, where he registered 10.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and just shy of a block on roughly 35 percent shooting from distance.

Though parting ways with such a versatile talent may prove to be a bit hard, based on the league rumor mill, the Grizzlies' desire to move up as far as third overall in the upcoming draft is to try and snatch up the likes of UConn big Donovan Clingan, who, with his 7-foot-2 frame, defensive chops, and reportedly improved three-point shooting stroke, could make up for Aldama's absence from a skills perspective all while better fleshing out the rotation by addressing their primary pivot spot.

As for the Rockets, they'd be adding a highly switchable asset from a positional standpoint who could serve as a great backup to the likes of rising stud Alperen Sengun, sophomore standout Jabari Smith Jr., and even his former Grizzlies teammate Steven Adams down in the frontcourt.
