Should the Memphis Grizzlies pursue a trade with the Rockets for the third overall pick, there are a few players, in particular, who could realistically be sent Space City bound.

Luke Kennard

Though Luke Kennard has received quite a bit of unfavorable attention regarding his lucrative $14.7 million cap hit in the event that his fourth and final year under contract is opted into in 2024-25, this should by no means take away from the positive impact his skill set can provide to a team, especially one that could use for more shooters.

One of the greatest three-point snipers the league has ever seen, Kennard boasts a 43.9 percent shooting percentage from deep throughout his seven-year professional career and, since being traded to the Grizzlies two seasons ago, the veteran has only managed to improve this number to an electrifying 48.3 percent on 6.0 attempts per game.

Last season, the Rockets hoisted up the 12-most attempts from distance with 36.1 per game though, underwhelmingly, cashed in on such shots at a mere rate of 35.2 percent (eighth-worst in the association).

Adding someone of Kennard's ilk could instantaneously boost the ball club's productivity from beyond the arc, while simultaneously bringing them more depth at the always valuable wing position.

Add in the fact that the 27-year-old is coming off a season where he registered an insane 72.4 effective field goal percentage on catch-and-shoot opportunities, and it could be well worth it for Houston's pedestrian offense (ranked fourth-worst in said category this year) to bring on the sharpshooter.
