The Memphis Grizzlies still can't seem to shake their injury woes, as they've been hit yet again with some unfortunate health-related news.

Per the team's medical staff, it has been determined that Ziaire Williams has suffered from a "Grade 2 strain of hip flexor and low back muscles" and will be sidelined for at least the next three weeks.

The injury was sustained during Memphis' March 2 bout against the Portland Trail Blazers, where he collapsed to the floor in excruciating pain at around the three-minute mark of overtime.

This latest ailment comes less than a month after returning to action following an 18-day absence due to a nagging hand injury.

Memphis Grizzlies wing Ziaire Williams out for next several weeks

The news of his injury comes at quite an unfortunate time for Williams, as the third-year wing had recently found himself playing at a rather high level since making his way back to the lineup on February 14.

Over the last six games of action, Williams has been producing enviably on both ends of the floor, posting impressive per game averages of 12.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.3 steals.

He even dropped a mesmerizing 27 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals performance in the team's surprise victory over the title-hungry Milwaukee Bucks right before the All-Star break.

With this unfortunate situation, Williams will now miss a substantial chunk of action during these final two months of play which, in turn, could wind up negatively impacting his odds of remaining on the team beyond this season, as he's been frequently seen as a player the Grizzlies could opt to move on from following the conclusion of 2023-24.
