The Memphis Grizzlies have been plagued by key player absences throughout these early stages of the 2023-24 season and boast a putrid 5-14 record as a result.

From Ja Morant (suspension) to Steven Adams (knee), Taylor Jenkins' rotation has been void of several staple figures which has forced the team to become more experimental with their schemes and lineup usage.

With said rotational testing, on numerous occasions, there have been players who stepped up to the plate and performed admirably in their new-found situations while others, sadly, have squandered such opportunities.

Still struggling to find any semblance of a trusty core unit, more trial and error is almost certainly needed for this coaching staff and, frankly, the team as a whole to officially get their season on the right track.

Should they partake in such a venture, there are a few players, in particular, that should be given larger roles within the rotation.

3. Vince Williams Jr

With the loss of Dillon Brooks this past offseason and the slew of injuries sustained at the position, easily the biggest sore spot for this Grizzlies squad from a rotational standpoint has been at the three.

From Ziaire Williams to Santi Aldama, coach Jenkins has given extensive run to many different players out on the wing. Most recently, it was two-way sophomore Vince Williams Jr. who received a call to action and saw himself showing out.

Proving to be a much-needed ball of energy in seemingly all facets of the game, since November 29 Williams has seen an impressive 25.1 minutes per night and has posted 10.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and just shy of a steal while shooting 58.8 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from distance.

During this span, not only have the Grizzlies gone 2-1 but they also managed to come across their first win-streak of the season.

Though these accomplishments are the result of a full-team effort, Williams' contributions played a large role in their recent stretch of success and, with 39 more games of eligibility left on his specific deal, Memphis should look to continue utilizing him while he remains hot.
