3 trade targets Grizzlies must pursue in a Zach LaVine blockbuster
By Mark Nilon
3. Torrey Craig
Going from a name like Zach LaVine to Torrey Craig may not be the most exciting sight for fans to bear witness to but the Grizzlies don't necessarily need a sexy new player to help turn things around.
Instead, they could use for some proven commodities who can produce in their specific roles at a trusty and reliable rate, and the veteran forward could be someone who can accomplish exactly that for this team.
With seven years of experience under his belt, Craig is a sound two-way talent who has proven capable of slotting in at either the three or four spot on the floor.
With his high-end brand of energy and on-court efforts, the 32-year-old has found himself suiting up for several title-hopefuls throughout his professional tenure and has served as a regular contributor on two different teams that inevitably went on to advance to the NBA Finals in the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns, respectively.
Since 2020-21, Craig finds himself sporting averages of 6.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and just over half a steal and block while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 36.2 percent from deep and, for his career, registers as a plus defensive player in the advanced metrics.
With the team's ongoing problems of trying to find a steady presence to man the wing position, adding the vet to their rotation could be a rather simple and low-risk way of trying to find an answer to their rotational quagmire.
