The Memphis Grizzlies are a top-three Western Conference team and a top-six NBA team with four days remaining until the NBA's trade deadline. When the dust settles, this team is capable of winning an NBA championship as currently constructed but can make a move to better their chances of making that a reality.
They have a big three that can rival any team's top three, defensive versatility at the wing position when healthy, three-point shooting at all levels of the roster, and a deep bench unit that is among the best in the NBA. With their name being inserted into trade talks ahead of the deadline, they have a collection of players that are deemed untouchable to be included in a trade.
The Obvious: The Big Three
Ja Morant is the best player on the team and one of the best players in the NBA. He is box office and has been a winner since entering the league in 2019. Of course, he is untouchable when it comes to trade talk.
Jaren Jackson Jr. is just as unlikely to be traded as Ja Morant. He has been the team's best and most available player this season and last season. His improvement on the offensive side of the basketball can be an X-Factor the team needs come playoff time.
Desmond Bane is the third of the big three and is arguably the best scorer on the team. He can score with the best of them when he gets rolling and is one of the best shooters in the NBA. He and Ja Morant form one of the best backcourts in the NBA.
The Young and the Restless
GG Jackson likely has the most potential of the Grizzlies' trio of young wings and just returned from a broken foot injury a couple of weeks ago. The Grizzlies are highly unlikely to include him in any deal as he is expected to be their starting scoring wing of the future.
Jaylen Wells has had the biggest impact of any rookie in the NBA this season and his game compliments the Grizzlies big three to perfection. His defensive impact will make him a candidate to remain as the starting small forward this season and in the future.
Zach Edey was drafted as the starting center and has had an up-and-down rookie season. However, his highs show that he will be a threat now and in the future. His shooting from three adds an element that wasn't expected of him coming out of college.
