New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans literally had the very first agreement of Free-Agency. They reached a lucrative contract extension with their leader and franchise cornerstone–Anthony Davis. There is little doubt that he will be worth every bit of the terms.

Following the extension led to the Pelicans re-signing more frontcourt players of theirs. They managed to retain Omer Asik while keeping potential Grizz-target Alexis Ajinca.

One thing that has been a little staggering is that New Orleans has not made any major additions. This is unlike the other four teams in the Southwest Division. Alonzo Gee, though a decent NBA player, is not the big name that will drastically increase New Orleans’ chances of sitting atop the division’s standings by April of next year.

If the Pelicans continue to stand pat this offseason, they most likely will finish the 2015-16 season in the same position as they did previously.
