4/5th Seed: Jazzed for the Jazz?

If the Grizzlies end up with the fourth or fifth seed, they could play the Utah Jazz.

Memphis won the seasons series, 3-1.

In the one game the Jazz won, the Grizz couldn’t hit water if they fell out of boat. They shot 30 percent from the field that game, and Mike Conley and Marc Gasol went a combined 7-for-38.

Playing the Jazz wouldn’t be bad, but it may be one of the most boring series known to man. Both teams grind games out night to night. Currently, the Jazz rank first in overall defense and the Grizzlies sit at third.

The only difference between these two is that the Grizz score the ball just a tad better. The Grizzlies sit at 27th in offensive rating at 100.8, and the Jazz at 28th at 100.2.

The Grizzlies’ playoff experience would benefit them in this series. They’re on track to make the playoffs for the seventh consecutive season. On the other hand, the Jazz haven’t made it to the playoffs since 2011-2012.
