Can They Take Down the Spurs?

It’s hard to say because if the Grizzlies do advance from the sixth spot they will probably end up facing the San Antonio Spurs unless just somehow the Oklahoma City Thunder pull of a miracle.

Do the Grizzlies want to meet Gregg Popovich’s team in the playoffs? It’s hard to say, because they haven’t faced a healthy Spurs team this season. If they did, then there could be a different perspective.

It’s also hard to gauge from a regular season game. Winning a seven-game playoff series against anybody is a totally different beast. The Spurs are always dangerous. They have a good veteran base with Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Danny Green and Pau Gasol.

They have the best arguably two-way player in the NBA with Kawhi Leonard. Add the best coach in NBA history and their experience to that equation – the Spurs are just a tough matchup.

The Spurs did show their age in last year’s conference semifinals loss to the Thunder, but they are the Spurs. So yeah.
