Brandan Wright’s Arrival

When the Grizzlies signed Brandan Wright, it opened up numerous of opportunities. They could play up-tempo with Wright at the 5. Or, they could’ve played him alongside Randolph to hide his defensive deficiencies. Or, the Grizzlies could form a stifling defensive duo with a little high-low game with a Wright-Gasol pairing.

Envisioning Wright catching lobs from Conley gave Grizzly fans butterflies.

Until, he had injury issues. Of course, right?

After missing all but 12 games last season and the first 49 of this one, Brandan Wright is back, and it looks like he hasn’t missed a beat.

He’s catching lobs, throwing down dunks, swatting shots and running the floor. It’s truly a sight to behold.

Because of his defensive versatility and his ability to play above the rim, he could be an important piece to the championship puzzle.
