Memphis Grizzlies unveil Nike ‘Icon’ and ‘Association’ jerseys
The wait is finally over. The Memphis Grizzlies released their ‘Icon’ and ‘Association’ jerseys. What do you think?
Ever since the NBA announced its partnership with Nike, basketball universe has become hyped for the new jerseys. Who can blame them? We’ve seen USA’s jerseys in the Olympics. College basketball teams sponsored by Nike have some of the coolest uniforms in the country (peep Oregon, Duke and Kentucky).
As the NBA has released a preview of some of the ‘Icon’ and ‘Association’ jerseys – the traditional ‘home’ and ‘away’ jerseys – some have impressed, and some are meh. The Memphis Grizzlies have revealed its latest jerseys.
Depending on your stance with Nike, you either love them or hate them. They certainly look a lot cleaner as they got rid of the golden logo at the center of the collar and touched up on the stripes of the side.
What are your thoughts on these “new-look” jerseys? Do you like them or hate them?
The Jerseys
The new Nike jerseys don’t look much different than before, but they still made some changes to make the jerseys more clean:
The only real difference is the collar. They removed the golden bear logo to signify their “core attribute” – a blue collar.
On both jerseys, they changed the trim around the player’s arms to match the base of the uniforms.
While the changes may not look like “changes,” people will still line up to buy these Nike jerseys. In addition, it’ll draw more hype around the ‘Athlete’s Mindset’ and ‘Community’ threads.

Looking Ahead
With the new uniforms out, there are still plenty of Nike additions to anticipate. What new Nike gear will go in the team store? Dri-fit polos and t-shirt jerseys? Revamped warmup gear? The new ‘Athlete’s Mindset’ and ‘Community’ jerseys that’ll surely blow our minds?
