Contrary to popular belief (aka: the Minnesota Timberwolves hype train), the Memphis Grizzlies aren’t going anywhere. Yes, injury problems are real, but everyone can’t be hurt. *knocks on wood*

All of their young guys are fringe NBA players, but all of them can’t be busts. Someone has to flourish. *knocks on wood again*

In addition, Marc Gasol and Mike Conley are two All-Stars who are coming off their best seasons. Conley came off a dominant playoff performance, and if he builds on that, he’ll continue to shatter career-high’s.

Also, a reason for optimism – don’t hate me for saying this – the Memphis Grizzlies won’t be attached to two different styles. Without Zach Randolph and Tony Allen, the Grizzlies can fully move on from “grit and grind” and 100 percent focus on Fizdale’s style of basketball. In the process, there should be a gradual improvement as there’s no confusion on the direction of this team.

If the Grizzlies can stay healthy – looking at you two, Chandler Parsons and Tyreke Evans – and some of the young guys can break through to become consistent contributors, Marc Gasol and Mike Conley will lead the charge as they reach their eighth straight postseason appearance. — Parker Fleming.
