No. 4: Magnified franchise’s constant poor drafting

The Memphis Grizzlies haven’t had a good draft probably since 2008. Even then, none of the first-round picks (Darrell Arthur and OJ Mayo) drafted in that class are on the team now.

Since Chris Wallace’s first draft in 2007, Conley and Arthur are the only draftees to strike another deal their rookie contract with the team. If you narrowed it down to who actually made it to the end of their rookie deals with the team, you can count in OJ Mayo.

I understand you can’t hit every draft, but how do you strike out on every single one for almost 10 years? I would think at least a 33-percent success rate would be doable.
