48 NBA players were surveyed about potential destinations for the hottest free agents this summer. Someone thinks LeBron could go to the Memphis Grizzlies.

What if I told you LeBron James could go to the Memphis Grizzlies? Would you believe me?

Well, some NBA players believe so.

In a recent ESPN survey, 48 players were asked numerous questions about this summer — mainly concerned LeBron James’ destination. When asked where LeBron will sign this summer, Cleveland and Los Angeles were the lead vote-getters. Trailing behind them were Miami and “other.” One of the teams that fell in the “others gaining votes” category was … the Memphis Grizzlies.

REV UP THE PHOTOSHOPS. HOP ON THE TRADE MACHINE. PLAY SOME 2K. LEBRON IS COMING TO MEMPHIS, BOYS!

Hold up.

Is this for real or just a troll?

Is he actually …

Keep in mind that only 48 players were asked these questions. In addition, it was just All-Star weekend. Maybe Dillon Brooks was trolling ESPN and saying LeBron will go to Memphis.

*narrator voice* He’ll never come to Memphis.

For starters, in terms of branding, Memphis is a bottom-five destination. Secondly, the Grizzlies just fired his boy Dave Fizdale. Why would he want to come to an organization that fired his friend? Then, there’s the money issue. They have none of it.

To even attempt to make a move at LeBron, they need to clear some space. Any form of cap-clearing would involve moving a combination of Chandler Parsons, Mike Conley and Marc Gasol. Their trade value isn’t that high so that’s nearly impossible.

In addition, the Grizzlies are just as dysfunctional as the pre-trade deadline version of the Cavs. Memphis’ chemistry was immensely better, but why would LeBron come somewhere with a blurry ownership situation and a bottom-tier GM?

Who knows though? Maybe, LeBron low-key loves Memphis. In Memphis, he’ll could potentially become the first player-GM-coach in the history of sports. Maybe, he’s enamored by the idea of playing with a potential top-five pick and Dillon Brooks.

Who knows?!?!!?!

All I know is, it’s not going to happen. Sorry.

Keep your photoshops. Hop on that trade machine. Play some 2K. Because that’s the only way LeBron James is coming to the Memphis Grizzlies.
