The Memphis Grizzlies have changed several players careers, and coming in at number 21 on our All-Time list is former guard Chucky Atkins.

Memphis has been the stopping ground for numerous players who need to re-create their game, and Chucky Atkins was just another guy who found himself in the 901.

Atkins had two of his best seasons in the NBA in his two seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies. Averaging a two of his highest seasons in the NBA in points and overall court action.

Atkins played a huge role in 2006 when Memphis made the playoffs as the eight seed in the Western Conference. Of course, Memphis would go on to get swept in the first round by the ‘dynasty’ in the San Antonio Spurs, but Atkins was their sixth leading scorer. That might sound bad, but that 06′ team was strong offensively that season.

The two highest scorers on that 06′ team you might see later on this All-Time list in Mike Miller, Pau Gasol, Shane Battier, and Damon Staudamire. So Atkins was in good company during his run in Memphis.

Atkins career in Memphis was only two seasons, but the impact he had on the Memphis Grizzlies franchise during those two years was monumental. Although his years in Memphis didn’t lead to any playoff victories, he is forever on one of the first teams to put the Grizzlies in the NBA Playoffs.

The time was short, but what Atkins did for Memphis on and off the court has him ranked 21st in our All-Time Memphis Grizzlies rankings!
