Greatest Memphis Grizzlies Of All-Time: Mike Bibby
Former point guard Mike Bibby only played three seasons with the Vancouver Grizzlies, but in those three seasons, his career catapulted.
Although Mike Bibby never suited up for the Memphis Grizzlies, due to his departure during the 2001 offseason to Sacramento to join the Kings, Bibby still comes in at number 12 on our Grizzlies All-Time list.
Following his first three years in the NBA with the Vancouver Grizzlies, Bibby joined the Kings and spent the next seven seasons being one of the most dominant point guards in the NBA during that time.
In Bibby’s three seasons as a Grizzly, Bibby averaged a little over 14 points per game, and dished out over eight assists a game.

When Bibby decided to hang up his jersey, he decided to stay around the game, and was that the best decision he has made. Bibby started at one of the lowest tiers of coaching. Starting at the high school level, and building a nationally ranked powerhouse. Bibby led Shadow Mountain High, Bibby’s Alma Mater to three Arizona state champioships in four years.

Although Bibby did not stay with the Memphis Grizzlies franchise during their move to the city of Memphis, this past Summer League, he spent some time with the Grizzlies franchise in an advisor role with the team. “Buff Bibby” sporting the “Memphis” on his chest in practice, and then having the Grizzly bear logo during games behind the bench was a sight to behold. We orginally talked about Bibby, and his potential role with the franchise here.
A possible role with the Memphis Grizzlies franchise after his playing days could push Mike Bibby up in our all-time rankings, and I am sure that fans would not mind seeing him on sidelines coaching our beloved Grizzlies.
