Memphis Grizzlies 2018-19 Media Day Headlines to Look For
Memphis Grizzlies rookie guard Jevon Carter is coming off of a surgery on his thumb that originally had him sidelined 6-8 weeks. Monday we will be approaching about the fifth week of his recovery process. This is a pivotal training camp from Carter who is in the mix for one of the three Point Guard spots on the Grizzlies roster.
Injury or not, I know Carter is a lock for a roster spot, but where he lies within that two or three spot will be huge for him. Not only that, getting game repetitions throughout the preseason will be huge for Carter, who has a chance to backup Mike Conley, and possibly beat out veterans Andrew Harrison, and Shelvin Mack.
While the rush to return is great, Grizzlies fans want Carter back at 100 percent so that we can see the full “Carter effect” on his opponents on both ends of the floor.
Carter’s thumb effects his play on both ends, and from what I was told, Carter injured his thumb by it getting caught in a jersey during a game of pick-up.
So, for Grizzlies fans, pay attention closely to how Carter talks about his thumb, and also how his first offseason in the NBA has gone. Carter has a great and open personality, so he will be a must look either way.
