“The most impressive player from the Memphis Grizzlies’ training camp will be Jaren Jackson Jr. The team is expected to start the season with JaMychal Green at power forward, but a good training camp by Jackson will get the team thinking about when they want to get him into the starting lineup.

Jackson Jr. will show off his impact as a shot blocker, but that is something we have already known. The thing that will stand out to the coaching staff will be Jaren’s ability on the offensive end. He will show that his three-point show will translate from college to the NBA. He will also show his ability to score the ball in a variety of ways. Expect the rookie to be a starter by Christmas at the very least.

On the other hand, Chandler Parsons will be the biggest disappointment of training camp. The Grizzlies have finally moved on and signed a new small forward in Kyle Anderson, which will lead to Parsons just trying to do his best to get a role in the rotation.

Everyone gets excited when we see Chandler’s workout videos and we try to believe that it will be different this season — his third in Memphis. He is unable to get fully healthy and does not seem to be able to sustain a whole season.

Parsons will still get some playing time off the bench, maybe like 15 minutes per game. If he sustains another injury, it will knock him out of the rotation, though it is possible that he falls almost all the way out of the rotation even before any injury would arise.”
