Though it was a rough first two seasons for Chandler Parsons with the Memphis Grizzlies, he has put forth the effort to ensure change.

There have been many things that fans of the Memphis Grizzlies have disliked in recent history. Who could blame them?

Losing Zach Randolph, Tony Allen, and Vince Carter all in the same offseason of 2017 was tough. Saying that those three guys are fan favorites is an understatement.

Those instances rank pretty high. Add in the blown NBA Draft selections followed by swift releases and trimmings from the roster and you start to feel for Grizz Nation. It has been a changing of the guard over the past couple of seasons.

There is one item that takes the cake. Being the Grizzlies’ third-highest paid salary, Chandler Parsons has been underwhelming to say the least.  When your favorite team is paying a player upward of $20 million per season and and they appear in just 43% of two seasons’ worth of games, people are going to be angry.

Grizz Nation wants production. They want results. They want the NBA Playoffs to return to Memphis, Tennessee. It is as simple as that. Well, simple may not be the correct term here.

After battling back from repeated injuries, Chandler Parsons is currently in the best shape he has experienced while calling Memphis “home.” As he continues to get into game shape and the rust wears off, he will become a bigger portion of the Grizzlies’ offense.

Though Parsons did not post an incredible production line in Wednesday’s 83-111 road loss to the Indiana Pacers, fans are starting to like and appreciate No. 25. For most, it is the first time they have shared fandom over the University of Florida product.

More from Beale Street Bears

On Thursday, Chandler Parsons purchased 1,000 tickets for Friday’s home-opener versus the Atlanta Hawks. In an already generous act, he took it to the next level. Chandler personally distributed tickets to the first 1,000 fans to arrive at the FedEx Forum following the Memphis Grizzlies’ practice session.

Along with the tickets came a smile and a handshake from Chandler Parsons himself. He has demonstrated pure humility since Media Day and training camp tipped off for the 2018-19 season. There is no reason for Grizz Nation to not like this guy at this point.

Parsons’ attitude has clearly changed and his focus can now be seen to be placed on basketball. You could not say this about him prior to this latest season. All that remains to be seen are results.

A robust stat line may not be achieved overnight. That is unrealistic. However, it does not mean that Chandler Parsons cannot return to stellar form for the Memphis Grizzlies. With a deep and versatile roster, Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff can formulate various lineups that can make Chandler look the best offensively while hiding a few of his defensive flaws.

On Friday, Chandler hopes to see a packed Grindhouse so that he can have the fan base witness his climb to relativity. He is on a mission to prove he is worth his contract’s compensation.
