6 Candidates Likely to Step Up for the Memphis Grizzlies with JaMychal Green Out
By Chris Kern
Chandler Parsons
Chandler Parsons has had a solid first couple of games for the Memphis Grizzlies. They trust him to play as a small-ball four and it is possible that he could start there. He has already started both regular season games at small forward, so he would be familiar with the surroundings.
Parsons is the healthiest he has been since coming to Memphis and it is finally paying off. He is playing much better, and through two games, he has fit in well inside the starting lineup. Starting has taken some pressure off his shoulders since he does not have to carry the offensive load.

If he can stay healthy and knock down shots, he is going to become huge for this team. You can tell he feels better already and is getting his legs underneath him because his jumper looks a lot better.
Chandler is also starting to get some of his speed and athleticism back. The Grizzlies are not asking him to earn his money and play like a max player. For now, they just need him to make open shots.
If Parsons can play like a starting-caliber player and stay relatively healthy, then that will be a big success.
With JaMychal Green out for the next month or so, Memphis needs to make sure the other guys are healthy during that stretch. This team is not deep inside and they need Chandler Parsons to stay on the floor and make an impact as a stretch-four.
His minutes likely will increase by much, if any, but he likely will play more of his minutes at the four-spot instead of the three-position.
