Memphis Needs JaMychal Green Back

Marc Gasol and Jaren Jackson Jr. were fantastic tonight there’s no doubt about that. But the Grizzlies could really use JaMychal Green coming off the bench.

He would be a perfect small ball five for this team and he would really help these backup guards play in a role that better suits them.

His rebounding would help this team a lot but that’s not even the main reason they need him back. This team has very little depth inside and it showed against the Nuggets.

Ivan Rabb plays hard and he can contribute when called upon but having him as your first backup big isn’t ideal.

The Grizzlies could’ve considered signing a guy like Joakim Noah but if they haven’t done that already it seems unlikely they go that route.

They seem confident playing a lot of small ball and trust that Rabb can contribute when needed. If Omri Casspi returns soon he will also help inside some.

The way Jackson is playing he isn’t going to be taken out of the starting lineup. When Green returns he will come off the bench, and he will make a big impact on this team.
