Justin Holiday Is Needed In A Big Way

The Grizzlies once again got dominated from the three-point line. They made just five to the Nets 13. That’s a 24 point difference that they were not able to overcome.

Justin Holiday is the guy who was brought here to solve those issues. He won’t solve it by himself but he will help.

He is making 2.6 three-pointers per game at a 36% clip. That’s not an elite clip but it will most certainly help.

We have seen many teams shred our defense from the three-point line with much of it coming from the corner.

The Grizzlies struggle in that area while that’s one of Holiday’s strong suits. With the Grizzlies having someone in the corner that can be relied upon to hit those corner shots it will keep defenses with helping off to help cover the paint.

Holiday will struggle to find a role early on but Memphis knows that they need another shooter so he will play a larger role than some may think.

Garrett Temple is the starting shooting guard for now but he may not be for much longer. If he doesn’t start producing more then he very easily could lose his job to Holiday.

He’s not a star type player by any means and he is nearly 30 years old. This shows the Grizzlies are all in on forming a playoff contender this seasons which means more moves could soon follow.
