Get Contributions From The Bench

The Grizzlies bench has really fallen off since their hot start. They were playing like one of the best second units in the league but too often they have made very a little impact recently.

In the first matchup, the bench scoring favored Miami as they outscored the Grizzlies 52-23. There is no chance Memphis wins if it that lopsided again.

The Heat bench scored 60 in Thursday nights win over the Celtics. They have a really good second unit in which everyone needs to be accounted for.

We already mentioned the big games Olynyk and Johnson had shot the three ball but the play of Derrick Jones Jr. was big in the first meeting. He scored 13 points to go along with eight rebounds.

Dwayne Wade didn’t play in the first meeting but he is going to be out there in this game. Despite coming off the bench he is still averaging 14.1 points and will be in at the end of many close games.

As good as the Miami bench is the Grizzlies do just need to focus on themselves. They have players capable of stepping up and they need to do just that in order to win.

We’ve seen JaMychal Green play at a high level many times this season and with the trade deadline looming he could be on his way out of Memphis.

Shelvin Mack has struggled a lot the past month and a half or so but he did have a good game against the Spurs. He scored 10 points to go with seven assists and he may stay in the rotation even if Jevon Carter is good to go.

Justin Holiday is the guy who needs to get going. With Dillon Brooks done for the rest of the season Holiday needs to step up, he was brought here to hit shots and so far he hasn’t done that.
