Memphis Grizzlies: 8 Things to Expect from Delon Wright

Rebounding
Delon Wright is also a surprisingly solid rebounder for his slight frame. He is one who is willing to risk his body — even in the air — for loose rebounds.
Clever even when rebounding as he will come up under bigs and tip the ball away, leaving bigs often reaching and off-balance when he does so as seen in the previous Toronto Raptors highlight video posted.
Wright is also willing to fly to the rebounds in the air and is aware of where the ball is, which alludes to his level of focus, especially considering how active and involved he usually is on both offense and defense.

The one thing that hurts Delon Wright at this point is his window being he is 26, turning 27 years of age this year. His window is closing and he has to take off now if it is ever going to happen. If not already, then by next season.
In the game of NBA comparisons, one can call him a blend of Rajon Rondo and Reggie Jackson, which speaks to his super versatile potential. One may rebuttal with, if he is so good, then why hasn’t he done much by 26?
Well, great question, for starters. I would begin by pointing out his gradual improvement in college and the NBA statiscally, which may suggest he is a late-bloomer like the Memphis Grizzlies’ current franchise player in Mike Conley.
Delon Wright’s current per-36 stat line is 14 points, five rebounds, five assists, over two steals, and a block per game. That is an absolute all-around basketball play-maker. Delon is very quick and slithery along with very good feel and an array of moves to make quick — but not overly explosive — attacks very efficient.
I can actually see him exceeding even that level of production if given the opportunity in Memphis. Essentially, there is not much of anything that most of the current NBA All-Star guards have that Delon doesn’t in the skill cerebral and potential department, except maybe his lack of assertiveness and confidence at times. However, he is always active and certainly a talent worth giving an honest shot.
