No. 4 Boston Celtics Versus No. 1 Milwaukee Bucks

Two Eastern Conference powerhouses are facing off in a battle highlighted by Kyrie Irving and Giannis Antetokounmpo. With two of the NBA’s leading candidates leading their respective teams into this war between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks, each game will be a must-watch.

Being as both teams are in the East, the Memphis Grizzlies only received two meetings versus each. Memphis first came across Milwaukee this season, and at that time, the Bucks were the league’s top record. The Grizzlies were able to snag one of their biggest wins of the season in Milwaukee’s house, where the Bucks lost just eight total games — the best mark in the league.

It was a hard-fought win by the Grizzlies, and it took every stop and every point in their bodies on that night. This propelle them to a five-game winning streak, too. It goes to show how meaningful that road victory truly was. Plus, Memphis notched an 8-5 record at that time and looked to be well on their way to another postseason appearance of their own.

Surprisingly enough, Milwaukee held the top spot in the Eastern Conference for the duration of the season, earning themselves homecourt advantage throughout East playoffs. Now they face off versus a very talented and very deep Boston Celtics squad that is built for the NBA Finals.

More from Grizzlies News

Boston is a veteran team that can score in bunches. They also pride themselves on the defensive end at nearly every position, even in their secondary unit. Plus, their coaching staff is one of the best in the league at making the right adjustments from a game-to-game basis.

From the Memphis Grizzlies’ perspective, they went winless versus the Boston Celtics, though it was due to their second-half blues killing their vibe. In two games, the Grizzlies lost by a total of 15 points, which shows that both games were rather close. Against the Bucks, Milwaukee got their revenge victory on Memphis’ home floor, which was a 10-point loss for the Grizzlies.

Oddly enough, the Memphis Grizzlies played the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics in a back-to-back sequence in January. Since then, the Bucks and Celtics have stepped it up to the next level in their first-round series. They are new and improved versions of their January selves. Based off the Grizzlies’ successes this season, Boston will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
