Terry Rozier

Terry Rozier has continued to grow during his time with the Boston Celtics and that has potentially earned him a big contract this summer. He is a restricted free agent so Boston could match any offer he gets, but with other moves, they’re expected to make they might be willing to let him walk.

The $4.3 million qualifying offer could be tempting for him if he wants to become an unrestricted free agent next summer, but it seems unlikely that he will go that route. There other teams such as the Phoenix Suns who have shown a lot of interest, but if the Grizzlies are able to get the money this should be a move to consider.

His time with the Celtics has had its ups and downs, but throughout it all, he has still shown his ability to play at a high level. When Kyrie Irving has been injured Rozier has been fantastic, most notably throughout their playoff run last season. In 19 playoff games in 2018, he averaged 16.6 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in 36.6 minutes per game.

That playoff run raised his value a lot, but after some struggles this past season it may have dropped back down some. If the Grizzlies are going to get Rozier they’re going to have to pay for him and that may not be the right move to make.

Terry Rozier is a very good player who deserves a chance to be a starting point guard in the NBA. There will be some openings, but a lot of the good teams are locked into their current point guards. If he wants a chance to be featured in the offense then Memphis could be an option.
