With the NBA Draft Lottery taking place on Tuesday night we now know the draft order and the Memphis Grizzlies still have work to do.

The Memphis Grizzlies finally had some luck in the NBA Draft Lottery. They will have the 2nd pick in the draft and will have their choice of any prospect outside of Zion Williamson who will be heading to New Orleans to play for the Pelicans.

The NBA changes the rules for the lottery coming into this season and we saw major changes as a result. The Grizzlies continued to play to win games as they were trying to convey their pick and they have been rewarded as has the Pelicans and the Lakers.

This could start to end NBA teams tanking. The Knicks, Cavs, and Suns all tanked to try and land Williamson, but now they’ll be picking 3rd, 5th, and 6th respectively unless they make trades. Tuesday was a monumental day for multiple franchises, and the NBA Draft will be much more exciting because of it.

With so much change coming to the Grizzlies this offseason this Draft could completely change the outlook of their future. They get a young star to pair with Jaren Jackson Jr. while also potentially trading away Mike Conley.

The Grizzlies could have a chance to acquire another first-round pick by trading Conley and one of the spots I’m looking at as a possibility is the Utah Jazz’s 23rd overall pick. It’s not a given he will be traded, but Memphis has a chance to jumpstart their rebuild and bringing in more young talent can help them do that.

With a whole new draft order, it’s only right to come up with a new Mock Draft. A lot will change before draft night, but as things currently stand here is how our Beale Street Bears NBA Mock Draft looks.

Here is our first NBA Mock Draft from early April during the NCAA Tournament.
