Mario Chalmers

Mario Chalmers has a lot to prove in BIG3. He is a newcomer to the three-on-three league, and he never was the same after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in the 2015-16 NBA season as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies. Immediately prior to the injury, he was setting the hoops world on fire. Game-winners, clutch shots, sly passes, defensive stops, and more, Chalmers was quickly becoming a fan favorite in Memphis.

It will be interesting to see how much Chalmers can contribute to BIG3 this year. He has played one year of international basketball since departing the NBA, but the injury along with age has taken a huge toll on his skill set. If he can prove in BIG3 that he can contribute in a major way, it could pave the way for a bigger paycheck in another professional league, even if it is abroad. Still, it is unclear if “Rio” would even want to keep that possibility alive. For now, he is keeping his name and popularity in the forefront via BIG3.
