Dillon Brooks

After a strong rookie campaign, Dillon Brooks comes into his third year looking to re-establish himself. Injuries derailed his sophomore season, causing him to miss 64 games. Now healthy, Brooks looks to work his way right back into a prominent role. His size allows him to play at either the 2 or 3, which will be important for the Grizzlies.

This season, Brooks has a chance to emerge as the team’s third option. He has shown in the past that he is comfortable as a scorer and, more importantly, as a shooter. Catch-and-shoot opportunities should be plentiful, and the Grizzlies will need multiple players to become effective options out of them. If the defense closes out, Brooks has shown ability in the past to comfortably put the ball on the floor as well, something not many guards in the rotation have done.

A sneaky athlete, Brooks should benefit from the increased pace the Grizzlies are expected to play with this season. He should be a steady fast break option when on the court. As long as he stays healthy, Brooks will be a solid contributor. The key for him will be consistency as he looks to get back into the rhythm of the game.
