After a few years struggling with the Phoenix Suns, both with his on-court production and his off-court problems, Jackson was sent to the Grizzlies, who soon after assigned him to the G league. To other players, that could have been the death kneel for Jackson’s career. However, he took the designation in stride, and showed that he still had something to offer an NBA team.

In his 18 games with the Grizzlies, in the 19.8 minutes per game he’s been averaging, he’s averaged 10.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. He’s also bumped up his shooting numbers, knocking down 43.9 percent of his shots from the field and 31.9 percent of his shots from 3-point range.

Jackson showed in the G league that he could be a key element in the starting rotation for a team. As a member of the bench rotation, Jackson has the ability to keep the pressure and the pace up when the starters go to the bench.
