Memphis Grizzlies: 3 storylines for game against Jazz

No. 3: Memphis’ Past vs. Memphis’ Future
Mike Conley will always be associated for his work on the Memphis Grizzlies, especially for his outstanding play during the “Grit ‘N Grind” era. However, in order to pave way for the future of the franchise, Memphis had to part ways with the man who had played their floor leader for years.
The trade is likely going to be viewed as a positive one, as it indirectly brought in Josh Jackson and gave Ja Morant a wide open field to be able to develop without being limited by backup minutes. Still, old loves burn the harshest, and many fans d still yearn for the days of Memphis’ past. For those fans, and many more, this game means much more than just a playoff spot.
To them, this game will be one of the first glimpses of the improvements Memphis has already made, as well as the changes that they will need to make going forward. It will be one of the last times we see Conley, who’s 32 years old, play against the team where he did some of his best work, and you can be sure that most if not all of the Grizzlies players are aware of that.
