4. Skylar Mays (LSU)

Skylar Mays is a 6’4″ shooting guard weighing in a 205 pounds. Mays has a 6’6″ wingspan and is superb on defense with his quick feet and high energy. This guy has the ability to defend both backcourt positions and is a quality catch-and-shoot player.

Mays has been compared to former Grizzlies guard Avery Bradley, an NBA All-Defensive Team performer.

The Grizzlies could pick Mays with confidence knowing that he can produce on defense. He ranks in the top 10 in steal percentage among 2020 draft prospects. The only gamble is that if his shooting ability does not transfer to the NBA, then the Grizzlies practically have another De’Anthony Melton on their roster. But this would not necessarily be the worst thing, as long as he brings good defense to the table.
