Memphis Grizzlies’ floor as a team

Unfortunately for Memphis, this team’s floor is a lot lower than the ceiling is high, at least in the immediate future. In the long term, fans of this team have plenty to look forward to, with arguably the best young core in NBA basketball. Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane, Justise Winslow, De’Anthony Melton, and Brandon Clarke will attest to that.

But one of the side effects of having a young team is the possibility of having a completely disastrous performance. It happens to everyone, but your chances are higher with a full squad of guys in their early 20s.

The positive to takeaway here is that the floor of this team is behind us. Two 31-point losses proves that, as this team saw rock bottom and will look to bounce back for the remainder of the year.

We may see some more performances like this, but as a team that isn’t necessarily ready to compete for a title, these are learning experiences. It’s hard to watch, but each blowout loss teaches this team an entirely new lesson. The floor may be low, but this team retains a lot of potential.
