Memphis Grizzlies SG: Dillon Brooks

This one is debatable, but as I see it, his stats as extremely comparable to his numbers last year. That may not necessarily seem like a bad thing, but as a 4th-year player now, I’m sure the team would like to still see some growth when it comes to his game.

This year he is averaging 15.5 PPG and is shooting 39.8% from the field and 32.9% from deep. All of those stats are actually lower than last years stats and this decline may foreshadow another stagnant season that ends with the Grizzlies missing the playoffs.

If the team wants to change that outcome, Dillon Brooks needs to shoot better in general, but specifically from deep. If Brooks were to shoot closer to the 35-37% range from deep, that would dramatically help the team have a shot to make the playoffs. He would be more of a threat that opposing teams would have to guard when he is behind the line or in the corners. That would leave the lane open for Ja Morant to drive and finish or drive and kick to the corner if there is help defense.

It would also help Jonas Valanciunas, as he would be able to kick it out more when controlling the ball in the post if he draws a double team. If Brooks were able to finish the season shooting around 35-37% from deep, not only would he be averaging more points than he is currently, but the chances of the team’s offense improving and overall record being better are very high.
