Memphis Grizzlies reshuffling minutes

This one isn’t as direct as the return of Jaren Jackson Jr., but it will be extremely noticeable when he returns. With Justise Winslow and JJJ soon to both be back and fully healthy, there will be certain guys on this team who lose minutes.

Even saying “lose minutes” seems wrong, since those minutes were never permanent to begin with, but the decrease is inevitable. The first and most noticeable players will likely be rookie Xavier Tillman and 2nd-year player Brandon Clarke.

Both guys have played extremely well and have exceeded expectations this year, but there won’t be as much room for them out on the floor anymore. Their development will likely slow down, but they’ll now provide a starting-caliber boost off the bench.

We may also see Justise Winslow grab more minutes for the rest of the year. This could mean decreased time for anybody between the point guard position to the small forward position. Tyus Jones, Dillon Brooks, De’Anthony Melton, and anybody else in that logjam could drop minutes.
