The Memphis Grizzlies should be giving De’Anthony Melton more minutes

Everybody relax, try to stay calm. Before you get upset that I’ve put De’Anthony Melton at the number three spot on this list, let me give you my rationale.

Melton is one of the youngest players on a young team, and as a result, gets limited minutes compared to other guards. That being said, this team hasn’t gotten better, more efficient minutes out of anybody than they have out of Melton.

For starters, remember when I mentioned Justise Winslow’s defensive rating? Melton is a single spot behind him at the 41st spot on the full NBA leaderboards, even with a higher volume of games played.

The young guard has the stats to back it up too with 1.3 steals per game.

It’s hard to say that he has been as impactful as a couple of other guards, but his strong shooting, energy, and pickpocketing abilities on the defensive end have allowed him to earn this spot. Remember, I am rating the best players on the team so far this year, and he has played the best basketball.

You may have seen more scoring from Dillon Brooks or a more surprising season out of Desmond Bane, but the guard who has been the most reliable this year is Melton.
