19.2 PPG. 2. 211. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. PG. Ja Morant

Long-term, Ja Morant is the best Memphis Grizzlies player, but he needs to be consistent

This may be another controversial choice, so let me preface things a bit. Ja Morant is the most impactful player on this team, nobody will deny that. If he plays well, the team plays well. If he doesn’t, the team doesn’t. In itself, that is the reason why he’s at the two spot on this list.

Morant has not played with any consistency in 2021. He has had a 44-point game, a 29-point game, a 28-point game, and a pair of 35-point games, but outside of these specific matches, he hasn’t done anything special this year.

He’s been able to dish the ball pretty well, but we’ve seen him disappear in losses. Take the ugly loss against an injured Golden State Warriors team for example. Morant scored 14 points and only tallied 2 assists in the process.

He hasn’t regressed from last season, but his inconsistencies can be directly correlated with this team’s inconsistency throughout the year.

He’s been undeniably the best player on this team at plenty of points in the season, but needs to smooth out his game if he wants his team to find success.
