The Memphis Grizzlies are a young team that makes rookie mistakes

If there was a trend for both teams throughout this series, it was stupid mistakes. It wasn’t just on the Memphis Grizzlies side of the ball, either. An injury-riddled Golden State Warriors team struggled equally in game 2.

When I say stupid mistakes, I’m referring to a handful of things. Excessive turnovers tainted the first game of the series, putting the Grizz behind early. Unnecessary fouls plagued this team in game 2.

By the end of the first half of the second game, this looked like a college basketball game. Both teams were shooting well under 40% and their shots weren’t falling. It was undisciplined basketball, even for a couple of young teams.

The Grizzlies youth was really on display in the first game though, as a young team desperately struggled to defend the 3-point shot. It’s an issue that we’ve seen before and it’s starting to look like something that can’t be resolved.

These were just a couple of the mistakes the Grizzlies have made as a result of being a young team. They’ll get better with time, but for now, we may have to endure a few more rough games.
