The Memphis Grizzlies will be better than their final projection shows

The Memphis Grizzlies aren’t the only team that has struggled with injuries this year, but they’re one of very few teams who have had to play over half of their season without a key contributor.

Jaren Jackson Jr. has been out, and as a result, this team has looked entirely different than they would have with his presence. At first, this was looked at as a negative, but there are many positives to take away from this scenario.

For starters, the Grizzlies will have Jaren Jackson Jr. back by the end of the season.

Assuming the Grizzlies will be competing in the Western Conference play-in tournament, they will have earned their positioning primarily without their second option. Jackson Jr. back would be adding a really strong rising star to a team that already had themselves in a good position.

The Grizzlies have also shown that they can compete with the NBA’s top teams. They haven’t just been beating up on lesser teams, they’ve been beating strong teams like the Clippers, while keeping things competitive against the Bucks and Nuggets in recent games.
