The Memphis Grizzlies recently split a series against the Golden State Warriors. Without Stephen Curry in the game, they would have liked to take home two wins, but won’t complain about the results.

They’ll look to move forward against the Boston Celtics, a team that has been a threat in the Eastern Conference playoff race. They currently sit as a 6th seed, but will look to fight their way further up the standings.

The Grizzlies, on the other hand, are hanging on by a thread to their playoff chances. They’re in the 10th position, and have barely stayed afloat in a competitive Western Conference in the absence of Jaren Jackson Jr., their young star.

The Grizzlies will look to get another win and increase their chances of earning an outright playoff spot when that opportunity presents itself.

The Memphis Grizzlies need a victory against the Boston Celtics

This game may not look like a must-win on the Grizzlies schedule from afar. In fact, you have to dig quite a bit to realize how important this matchup is.

By winning this game, the Grizzlies wouldn’t simply be adding another tally to the win total. They’d be beginning to build some consistency as they approach crunch time. The NBA Playoffs are coming up and Taylor Jenkins’ Achilles heel has been losing winnable games.

If the Grizz lose this game, it won’t be the end of the world, but it will be further evidence that this team cannot get into a groove. Earning some more wins before the return of Jaren Jackson Jr. would go a long way for their 2021 NBA Playoff chances.

But how will the Grizzlies get it done? Here are the 3 keys to a Memphis Grizzlies victory over the Boston Celtics.
