The Memphis Grizzlies will improve on offense, especially from long range

The Memphis Grizzlies have never been an elite offensive team. Throughout the history of the franchise, the main focuses for this team have been stout defense and serviceable offense.

That said, the new-age NBA does not allow for defensive powerhouses to succeed. Yes, it helps to have good defense, but if your team doesn’t have the abilities to score over 100 points on a nightly basis, you may not be able to keep up with high-scoring teams.

The Grizzlies will be able to do so.

In fact, we’ve already seen this Grizzlies team have some solid scoring performances this year, averaging 110.9 PPG on the year. The primary part of the Grizzlies’ game that is holding them back is their inability to shoot the ball effectively so far.

Jaren Jackson Jr. will do wonders for this team in that category. While Jonas Valanciunas is keeping a physical presence down low, Jackson Jr. will keep big men on their toes, giving Ja Morant and JV more room to work in the paint.

Even down low, expect JJJ to improve this team’s inside scoring. He’ll only add to the onslaught of floaters that we see. In fact, the Grizzlies already lead the league in floaters, so they may be on their way to some sort of NBA record.

Where does all of this put JV and JJJ in relation to other NBA duos?
