The Memphis Grizzlies need to limit OKC’s 3-point total

For the mental health of the Memphis Grizzlies’ fanbase, this is something that absolutely needs to happen. Game-after-game this year, we’ve seen opposing teams rain threes on Memphis and take commanding leads.

That’s how the Thunder overcame this Grizzlies team in their last matchup.

But in all likelihood, that won’t be as prevalent as it was last game. You can expect the Thunder to make some threes, but there’s a small chance that they’re able to match their 51% 3-point shooting.

This will likely be a point of emphasis on defense for Taylor Jenkins’ squad, so look for the Grizzlies to be more disruptive in that aspect of the game. Last game, Pokusevski and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander combined for 9 long-range buckets, so if the Grizzlies can limit these guys, they’ll be in good shape.

That being said, there’s not guaranteeing that this team can stop a 3-point barrage, so don’t get your hopes too high. They’ll try, and if they succeed at slowing down OKC from 3-point range, this could be an easy win for the Grizz.

They’ll have to play strong perimeter defense from start to finish, which leads me to the next slide.
