The Memphis Grizzlies need to shoot the ball well

Another crucial aspect of this game is the Grizzlies’ ability to put the ball in the bucket. Shocking, yes. The Grizzlies will, in fact, have to score the ball to win a basketball game.

But on a more serious note, the Grizzlies will have to shoot at a high percentage in game three against the Utah Jazz. The Jazz are one of the best scoring teams in the league, so if any team is able to down more of their shots than Utah, it’ll be smooth sailing.

That said, the Grizzlies have not shot at a particularly high percentage so far this season. They’re just under the halfway mark in the league, coming in at the 17th spot in the NBA on 46.3% shooting.

More specifically, the Grizzlies need to shoot the ball well from the 3-point line. In two games against the Jazz, their long-range percentages differed drastically. Here’s what things looked like:

Close Loss: 12-30, 40% 3pt FG

Blowout Loss: 9-33, 26% 3pt FG

Obviously, neither of these numbers were good enough to earn them a win, but if they’re able to get their percentage closer to 50, things may be a little more optimistic. It’ll be tough for a Grizzlies team that ranks 24th in the league in 3-point percentage.
