The Memphis Grizzlies bounced back to .500 in a home win against the Timberwolves that followed a tough road stretch. They’ll look to get ahead again in a tough matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.

The 76ers are within a whisper of the top spot in the Eastern Conference. If they take home a win against the Grizzlies, they’ll have the same record as the 1-seeded Nets. That said, this team will be motivated to get a win against a feisty Memphis squad.

Despite missing Joel Embiid for the past ten games, he returned to the starting lineup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. The Grizzlies will have to face the league’s best center without any injury dust to shake off.

Will the Memphis Grizzlies be able to take down the 76ers? Our contributors weigh in.

Jack Williams (Site Expert): This is another matchup that I’d like to pick the Grizzlies to win. That said, the Philadelphia 76ers will be a scary team with Joel Embiid back in the lineup. You have to expect the Grizzlies to put up a fight, but they’ll likely take a loss in this one. Ja Morant will have a bounce-back game but fall short against an extremely talented team.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 109, Philadelphia 76ers 121

Caleb Anglin: With Joel Embiid coming back into the lineup, and MVP candidate before his injury, the Grizzlies have a tough task ahead of them. Before Embiid’s injury, the 76ers looked unstoppable at times. Memphis is no easy outing though, I’m actually going to take the Grizzlies in this one. Ja Morant had 11 points last game in a win against Minnesota, an 11 point game for Morant seems unlikely. I think we will see a double-double from both Morant and Valanciunas as the Grizzlies take down Embiid and the 6ers.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 112, Philadelphia 76ers 103

Taylor Goebel: Currently the 2-seed in the Eastern Conference, Joel Embiid and the 76ers have been on a roll pretty much all season so far. A top 3 MVP candidate, Embiid has been sharp in all aspects of his game this year and is looking to help make another deep playoff push. The Grizzlies on the other hand are on the fringe for the last playoff spot in the West. Embiid and the 76ers have just been too much for most teams and unfortunately, Sunday night won’t be any different for them.

Final Score: Memphis Grizzlies 113, Philadelphia 76ers 122
