Memphis Grizzlies Trade Target No. 3: Cleveland Cavaliers (3rd Pick)

Try to keep a cool head when you’re reading this slide. Yes, I’m aware that a trade-up to the 3rd-overall pick is almost completely unrealistic on both sides. That said, I think Memphis could at least enquire to see what the Cavs are looking for in exchange for the pick.

Right now, the Cavaliers already have a handful of solid talent with Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, and Kevin Love, but whatever they’re doing isn’t working. They might look to bolster their roster with the 3rd overall pick but if they want a more instant upgrade, Memphis could offer them some interesting pieces.

This is a trade that would likely end up involving some big players, so again, it’s relatively unrealistic. Memphis would almost definitely have to send Jaren Jackson Jr. over, which won’t be a popular narrative around Memphis.

Don’t expect a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers to happen. That said, if the Grizzlies are feeling any doubts about Jackson Jr.’s potential down the road, this could be their way out of that situation.

For the record, I am completely against this.
